Terms of service
The short version: Ezra does work in your Slack and hands it back for you to check. He never sends, posts or writes anything without someone clicking approve, which means the approval is yours and so is the responsibility for what you approve. Your data stays yours. You pay for the work Ezra does, not per seat.
Who you are agreeing with
These terms are between you and Strata Systems LLC, a New York limited liability company (“we”, “us”). By installing Ezra in a Slack workspace you accept them. If you install on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to.
What the service is
Ezra is an assistant that works inside Slack, reads the systems your workspace connects, and produces work — answers, drafts, memos, summaries — with a source cited for every figure it reports.
The approval gate
Reads are not gated. Writes always are. Ezra will not send an email, post a message outside the thread, or change a record in a connected system without a person clicking approve. There is no setting that turns this off.
What follows from that: when you approve something, the action is yours. Check the work before you click. Ezra shows its sources so that checking is possible; it is not a substitute for doing it.
What Ezra’s output is and is not
Ezra is built on large language models and can be wrong. It can misread a document, miss a record, or summarise something in a way that changes its meaning. Every figure carries the document behind it precisely so you can verify it. Nothing Ezra produces is legal, tax, accounting, financial or professional advice, and it should not be relied on as the sole basis for a decision that matters.
Your data
Your workspace’s content stays yours. We claim no ownership of it and no licence beyond what is needed to run the service for you. How we handle it is set out in the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Ezra to break the law, infringe someone’s rights, or process data you have no right to process.
- Do not connect a system you are not authorised to connect.
- Do not attempt to extract another workspace’s data, probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or resell access.
- Do not use Ezra to generate material that is unlawful, or to make automated decisions about people that carry legal or similarly significant effects without human review.
Payment
Ezra is priced on usage, not seats. Everyone in the workspace can use him and there is one meter, which runs on what Ezra actually does — not on how many people are in the room. The running total is visible in the workspace before anything bills.
New workspaces start with $100 in promotional credits and no card is required to begin. Once those credits are used, usage is charged to the payment method on file for the period in which it was incurred. Promotional credits have no cash value and can be changed or withdrawn for workspaces that have not yet started. We will not charge a workspace that has not used Ezra.
Availability
Ezra is early. We do not offer an uptime commitment or a service level agreement at this stage, and we will say so plainly rather than bury it. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and will give notice in Slack for changes that materially reduce what the service does.
Third-party services
Ezra connects to services you already use. Your use of those services stays governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or their behaviour.
Ending it
You can uninstall Ezra from your Slack workspace at any time, which ends these terms. We may suspend or end access for a breach of the acceptable use section, or if required by law. On termination, data is handled as described in the privacy policy.
Liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, and the state and federal courts located in New York have exclusive jurisdiction.
Changes
If these terms change materially, workspace admins get notice in Slack before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Ezra after that means accepting the new terms.
